Summary
Plasma oscillations were studied with the objective of determining and explaining the mechanisms for the growth of instabilities and oscillations in a gaseous discharge, with particular emphasis on the action of sheaths and wave in teractions with particles in the discharge. The effect of parameters such as geometric shapes and boundaries, magnetic f1eld, and pressure are also taken into account. (W.L.H.)
