Studies on the biochemical effects of radiation on plant metabolism are described. Topics discussed include the effect of ionizing and nonionizing radiation on chlorophyll synthesis, interaction between x-ray-induced chromosome aberrations and far-red radiant energy, effects of cobalt on the yield of oxidative phosphorylation, protein synthesis associated with the formation of the complete photosynthetic system, and kinetics of the light-stimulated growth of etiolated leaf disk and seed germination.
