Summary
BS>The system Cu--Au--Ag has been studied intensively in order to test any models suggested by theoretical work, and to indicate other possible theoretical approaches. The system was chosen for its relative simplicity both theoretically and experimentally and because a fair amount of data for the elemerts and the binary systems already exist. Some of the problems and possibilities in the use of statistical analysis of thermodynamic data are outlined. (R.J.S.)
