Summary
The castings have been found satisfactory for core use in all respects and particularly in the matter of corrosion resistance. The inherent advantage of material conservation by casting has especial application to the fabrication of Zr and Zr alloy shapes due to high cost and scarcity of the material. In view of the compelling need for zirconium conservation and the considerable cost reduction, a wider use of zirconium alloy castings is strongly recommended. (auth)
