O livro apresenta aos seus leitores novos caminhos para compreender os fenômenos da Superdotação e do Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção/Hiperatividade. Por meio de um rigoroso delineamento metodológico, a autora investiga o diagnóstico do TDAH em sujeitos com comportamento superdotado, bem como a Superdotação em sujeitos com TDAH e amplia as discussões sobre a manifestação da dupla excepcionalidade com base em referenciais teóricos nacionais e internacionais. KETILIN MAYRA PEDRO O livro apresenta uma discussão extremamente necessária ao século XXI e traz reflexões sobre os fenômenos da Superdotação e do Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção/Hiperatividade, delineando, desmitificando e alertando sobre a possibilidade de sua coocorrência - a denominada Dupla Excepcionalidade -, que se manifesta em indicadores de um e de outro fenômeno, mas, como todo encontro, se transforma e apresenta indicadores específicos. A complexidade e a heterogeneidade intrínseca aos grupos podem dificultar o diagnóstico e a atuação com esses estudantes, nos diferentes âmbitos: família, escola e sociedade. Compreendê-los e atendê-los em suas necessidades é necessário a quem se dedica ao ofício de ensinar, pois eles podem se tornar líderes mais empáticos com as necessidades humanas e promover o desenvolvimento cultural e tecnológico da nossa sociedade. Com uma abordagem multidisciplinar e de caráter multimodal, são investigados os indicadores dos fenômenos e suas habilidades sociais, apontando pontos fortes e fracos, o que pode oportunizar o entendimento diante de uma realidade tão paradoxal, dinâmica e com traços aparentemente contraditórios.
The book presents its readers with new ways to understand the phenomena of Giftedness and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Through a rigorous methodological design, the author investigates the diagnosis of ADHD in subjects with gifted behavior, as well as Giftedness in subjects with ADHD, and expands discussions on the manifestation of dual exceptionality based on national and international theoretical references. KETILIN MAYRA PEDRO The book presents a discussion that is extremely necessary for the 21st century and brings reflections on the phenomena of Giftedness and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, outlining, demystifying and warning about the possibility of their co-occurrence - the so-called Dual Exceptionality -, which manifests itself in indicators of one and the other phenomenon, but, like every encounter, it transforms and presents specific indicators. The complexity and heterogeneity intrinsic to the groups can make it difficult to diagnose and work with these students, in different areas: family, school and society. Understanding them and meeting their needs is necessary for those who dedicate themselves to teaching, as they can become leaders who are more empathetic to human needs and promote the cultural and technological development of our society. With a multidisciplinary and multimodal approach, the indicators of the phenomena and their social skills are investigated, pointing out strengths and weaknesses, which can provide opportunities for understanding in the face of such a paradoxical, dynamic reality with apparently contradictory traits.
