- Summary
- A storage facility was constructed and is now in operation for use with targets which must be kept in a vacuum. The storage chamber of this facility will handle up to ninety targets at a pressure of 5 x 10-7 torr. Typically, targets are evaporated, moved into a small transfer chamber, and then placed in the storage chamber of the facility--all under vacuum. There are safety devices which minimize accidents.
