Two independent investigations are discussed illustrating possible interesting collective features in some f-p shell nuclei which are generated from the motion of valence nuclei and that the structure of the states in question is consistent with interacting boson model theory. Also further studies of shell-model wave functions in the s-d and light f-p shell nuclei are discussed which also offer some support to the studied model. It is emphasized that these results are preliminary. Nine references. (JFP)
