- "The meta-heuristic techniques may be applied to optimize distributed systems so as to increase effectiveness and minimize cost and time. Various kinds of meta-heuristic techniques are derived from nature and hence a lot of development is going on in this field. The most common meta-heuristic techniques used for the optimization of distributed system are Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization, Cuckoo Algorithm, Harmony Search Algorithm, Bat Algorithm, and Simulated Annealing. Further, two or more of these optimization techniques may be hybridized to further increase the efficiency of distributed computing systems"--
