Summary
A preliminary environmental review was performed of the Research, Development and Demonstration Programs under the direction of the Assistant Administrator for Conservation, U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration. A methodology was developed based upon the Council on Environmental Quality Environmental Impact Statement Guidelines, and the life cycle of technology application consisting of the acquisition and organization of resources, use, and retirement phases. A number of Environmental Impact statements on programs and demonstration projects were recommended for the near term, and it was recommended that other EIS's be deferred until recommended environmental research is completed.
