Summary
Bridget Riley's perceptual art, from the black-and-white paintings of the early 1960s that first established her international reputation to her recent concern with the self-generating luminosity of pure color, always has involved the effects and processes of what she calls "the great privilege of sight." The film explores the inspiration she draws from visual experiences in nature and follows her into the studio where she organizes and activates her paintings.
