Summary

The results of an assessment of the status of solvent refining of coal technology are presented. These results, showing the commercialization potential in terms of technical feasibility and economic viability of producing solvent refined coal (SRC), are discussed. Use of SRC in industrial fuel combustion sources to achieve compliance with applicable emission standards is shown to be a viable control strategy.
