- Letters from the director of the health service for the French fleet that was sent to San Juan de Ulúa to enforce payment of reparations to French nationals in Mexico (the "Pastry War"). Two were written to Ferré's wife and daughters, the remainder addressed to his "son," Henri Moulin, a Parisian lawyer left in charge of the writer's domestic affairs and apparently the widower of one of Ferré's daughters.
