Summary
Two recent developments of soft magnetic materials are reviewed. New 3% Si-Fe laminations will enable transformers to operate at higher inductions with greater efficiency and less noise. Meanwhile, bubble memory technology has been firmly established to bridge the capacity-data retrieval time gap between semiconductor memories and the electromechanical machines.
