- Summary
- Savannah River Plant burial trenches for solid wastes were monitored for water content and /sup 90/Sr concentrations. Information is included on: the downward movement of waste in soil below storage tanks; leaching of crystalline waste through simulated storage tank crack; soil permeability; simulation of waste flow into the ground; water flow through soil beneath seepage basins,; observed and calculated seepage from K-area retention basin; radioactivity in vegetation and soil due to /sup 90/Sr migration; /sup 89/Sr and /sup 90/Sr in rabbits and mice in the burial ground; and the absorption of /sup 90/Sr and /sup 137/Cs by kaolin clay.
