Summary
The prototype shallow solar pond facility now under construction at the Sohio site in New Mexico is described. Experimental performance data are presented for one of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory shallow solar ponds. Improved pond and system designs are discussed as well as some recent developments in weather-resistant plastics.
