- Summary
- The limit established in this basis will assure that the pressurizer will not drain based upon a reactor scram resulting from a single electrical bus failure being initiated by low pressurizer level (i.e., failure of power loss trip). This case is considered identical to the case where a reactor scram resulting from loss of automatic level control is initiated from a low pressurizer level trip. This allows for approximately 30 seconds for an operator to detect loss of automatic level control and manually bring injection flow up to match shrinkage rate (assuming all four injection pumps are available).
