Summary
In a data acquisition/analysis environment, data are available from a variety of sources. By presenting data in a uniform format, available through a simple access interface, a facility can be developed to allow user programs access to these different sources with a minimum of difficulty. This also encourages the development of filter programs that may be joined together to analyze and display the data.
