This program implementation plan for the Department of Energy Advanced Research and Technology Development (AR and TD) Fossil Energy Materials Program reviews the background, technical issues, and research and development needs for materials of construction for fossil energy systems. The status and plans for research and development activities in the AR and TD Fossil Energy Materials Program are then discussed for various materials disciplines. Detailed information about these plans is provided for FY 1985 through FY 1987, and long-range plans are described for FY 1988 and FY 1989.
