- Summary
- U3O/sub 8/ powder has been produced from uranyl-loaded cation exchange resin with density, particle size distribution, and grain size suitable for powder metallurgy fabrication of reactor fuel tubes with Al-U3O/sub 8/ cores. Macroporous sulfonate resin in granular form is used in the process. Resin conversion techniques that were evaluated include batch, rotary, and fluidized bed calcination. 2 refs., 16 figs.
