An automatic analysis program PMEXA has been developed to analyze and correlate the data on many PBFA I shots to determine the random timing variations, the systematic dependences of components on the operation of the previous stages, and the deviations of major components from normal operation. As an example, the analysis can uncover performance deviations of 1 to 2 ns out of data dominated by typically 3-ns standard deviation jitter, 3-ns standard deviation component defects, and 25% flow-through timing variations from previous stages. The defects are identified for operations personnel to investigate and, hence, the program filters the number of events that require attention.
