Summary
This data exemplar sets out to demonstrate a process of analysing interview transcripts by utilising a method of Critical Discourse Analysis based on Fairclough's Textual Analysis Checklist. The dataset presented is situated in an MSc Social Research Methods dissertation completed by Andrea Davies and supervised by David Rea in 2014 at the University of Swansea. The dataset provides an opportunity to attend to the process of the analysis, and the reader is shown a way to move from the whole text corpus through the construction of themes and on to smaller text extracts for detailed analysis. The dataset files are accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide.
