The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), termed the world's local bank, is a world leader in financial services and makes a point of managing shareholders' investment and customers' money responsibly. It has set precedents for other banks to follow and continues to develop self-imposed ethical principles. A few of the ways in which the bank treats employees, customers, and global issues with respect are discussed in this case study.
