Reports the quantity of coal in coal shipments to the electric power sector, which comprises electricity-only and combined heat and power(CHP) plants whose primary business is to sell electricity, or electricity and heat, to the public (corresponding to North American Industry Classification System 22 plants). Values are reported by coal type and by mine state and census division. Provides detailed quarterly and annual statistics on US coal production, exports, imports, receipts, prices, consumption, quality, stocks, and refined coal. Data on US coke production, consumption, stocks, imports, and exports are also reported. Data are collected via survey reports conducted by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
