Summary
Provides historical data on electricity demand, sales, stock, and oil displacement for electric vehicles, including buses, cars, trucks, and vans. The Global EV Outlook dataset provides the data that is the basis of the annual IEA Global EV Outlook publication that identifies and discusses recent developments in electric mobility across the globe. It is developed with the support of the members of the Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI). The data combine historical data with projections to 2035 on key areas of interest, e.g., electric vehicle and charging infrastructure deployment, energy use, CO2 emissions, battery demand, and more. The report can be found at the dataset link. Abbreviations used in the Global EV Outlook dataset: EVs = electric vehicles, which include battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs); ZEVs = zero-emissions vehicles, which include BEVs, PHEVs and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs); NEV = new energy vehicle (China); includes BEVs, HEVs, PHEVs and FCEVs; LDV = light-duty vehicle (cars and vans); MDV = medium-duty vehicle; HDV = heavy-duty vehicle; CO2 = carbon dioxide; g CO2/km = grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer; g CO2/bhp-hr = grams of carbon dioxide per brake-horsepower hour; kWh = kilowatt-hour; CNG = compressed natural gas; NG = natural gas; LPG = liquefied petroleum gas; ICE = internal combustion engine; ZLEV = zero- or low-emission vehicle.
