Return showing (1) the railway companies who have, or have not, agreed to a limitation of the number of telegrams which they are entitled to send, free of charge, over the postal telegraphs; and (2) the number of such telegrams transmitted on behalf of each of the companies in question in each year from 1871, the first complete year after the purchase of the telegraphs by the state, to 1890, the last complete year preceding the negotiations between the Post Office and the companies on the subject.
