- Michael Johnson, born Michael Sussman, began as an organizer for the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) (1934-1955), becoming a labor education director (1955-1965) before joining the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission.
