- The collection consists of 23 items sent from Warren Miller or his second wife, Jane "Jimmy" Miller, to Prudencio de Pereda, including: four letters and one postal card from Miller, 1964-1965, giving personal, literary, and political news and opinions, including a copy of a petition from artists opposing the American policy in Vietnam; eight letters, one postal card, and one Christmas card, from Jimmy Miller, 1966-1978, with personal and political news; dust jackets from four of Miller's novels; also, three photographs, including one of Miller, one of Jimmy Miller, and one of Jimmy Miller with Warren's daughter from his first marriage.

- Biographical or Historical Sketch
- Warren Miller was a writer, educator, and political activist. Born in Stowe, Pennsylvania, he was educated at the University of Iowa, and, after serving in World War II, remained at Iowa as an instructor. He wrote several novels, notable for their handling of race relations and politics, as well as becoming active in political causes such as the anti-war movement. He also wrote children's books, contributed articles to periodicals, and wrote several romance novels under the pseudonym Amanda Vail. His second wife, Jimmy Miller, was the author of the novel, The Big Win.
