- In August 2009, the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy launched Disability.gov as a replacement for the former DisabilityInfo.gov. The new site, which includes content from 22 federal agencies and links to state disability information as well, is intended "to connect people with disabilities, their family members, veterans, caregivers, employers, service providers and others with the resources they need to ensure that people with disabilities can fully participate in the workplace and in their communities." -- About Us page. The site includes Twitter and RSS feeds, a blog, and enables visitors to receive email updates. Information can be accessed by subject area, including: benefits, civil rights, community life, education, emergency preparedness, employment, health, housing, technology, and transportation.
